Member at Large
Barb
Severyn
Barb has lived and worked in greater Victoria for the majority of the last 27 years and joined the Glenshiel Board in February of 2018. The expertise and perspective Barb offers to the Board are her many years as an Human Resources professional.
Barb has a long and varied work history in human resources with a number of public sector employers and regions in the province – from the Ministry of Transportation and Highways, the Motor Vehicle Branch, the Ministry of Forests, the BC Public Service Agency in the Lower Mainland as Regional Director of Client Services, back to Victoria as the Regional Director of Client Services, on to the Vancouver Island Health Authority as the Executive Director of Human Resources. She currently id the ED of Human Resources at Camosun College, where she has been since 2013.
Barb loves life on the Island, is passionate about “giving back” – hence her role on The Glenshiel Board – and, in what little spare time she has, she loves to travel – above almost everything – but when travel isn’t possible, she loves to be in the outdoors -- hiking and exploring from the beaches to the mountains -- walking the dog, attending concerts, spending quality time with friends and family or curled up with a good book.
